An enlightening afternoon with Ms. Suchismita Das

REPORT

On the 21st of August, the teachers of VIS had the pleasure and the opportunity to attend a workshop on “Assessment for learning & feedback”, conducted by Ms. Suchismita Das. Ms. Suchismita Das, an educational consultant, was the head of two primary schools in Dubai.  It was an enjoyable and interactive session of 60 minutes during which the teachers were asked to work in groups and then share their experiences and thoughts on different forms of formative and summative assessments. Ms. Das shared her own views through power point presentations. She not only gave us her inputs on how we can improve our system of assessment but also enlightened us on how we can teach the children the technique of self-assessment and how students can be made to participate actively during the process of assessment so that they learn through assessments.
